Plastic waste in the environment is, undeniably, a huge concern for our global economy. In fact, addressing the plastic end-of-life challenge is a key sustainability goal for Milliken—one that fosters collaboration and envisions emerging solutions.
On September 19, World Cleanup Day, we’ll help launch an exciting and interactive campaign addressing environmental waste at its source.
Milliken will join companies like Dow, Inc., Chevron Phillips Chemical, Shell, and other members of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste in the ALL_TOGETHER GLOBAL CLEANUP campaign—a global initiative to remove litter, one piece at a time, from the environment.
Kicking off on World Cleanup Day, this international challenge is open to everyone interested in making a difference. For two weeks, thousands of volunteers from around the world will rally to their communities to discover, identify, collect, and dispose of any litter they find.
Simply download Litterati from the App Store or Google Play Store, open the Litterati app, and enter the code: “MILLIKEN” to begin. Volunteers can then head out into their local community and use the camera in the Litterati app to take photos of the litter collected one piece at a time.
We’re challenging you to join the movement and help Milliken log more than 8,000 pieces of litter collected. And best of all, you can do it from anywhere in the world. Social distance, wear your mask, get outside, and get ready to contribute to this collective movement.
The scale of the global plastic waste challenge can feel daunting, but we are heartened by projects like ALL_TOGETHER GLOBAL CLEANUP, which shows that there are many willing to do their part to make an impact.
